[TUTORIAL: OMBRÉ NAILS]

What you will need:

• A makeup sponge
• A small bowl of water
• Nail Polishes
• A piece of paper
• (Cotton bud + Nail polish remover to clean up)

The Steps:

1. Dampen a makeup sponge in the water - you don’t want it to be dripping! This will prevent the sponge from absorbing in all the nail polish.
2. Starting off with the darkest colour, paint a line onto the sponge (it doesn’t have to be long or thick). With a lighter shade of polish, paint a line that overlaps the first line a little and repeat this step with the other colours so that it creates a gradient effect.
3. Dab the sponge onto a clean piece of paper a couple of times, so the polish mixes a little and the lines smuge out.
4. Next, press the sponge onto your nail (if you do step 2-3 quickly, you will be able to press the sponge onto more than 1 nail. This will of course save time and nail polish.)
5. Apply a top coat and then dab a clean cotton bud into some nail polish remover and clean around your nails.

This may seem hard to do, but coming from a clumsy and lazy girl, this was pretty quick and easy. It took me less than 10 minutes! By doing it this way, the nail polish become’s quite thin, so it dries quicker too.
